I remember when the echo was inactive for almost 15 years.
Right now im listening to Pulp's first live album, its called LIVE!

18 songs of Pulp, what a worthy endevour. They have hit songs such as Common People,
Disco 2000, Do You Remember the First Time?, Misshapes, Spike Island and This is Hardcore.

I saw them twice live in California during their latest chapter of their career.
I even own autographed books from two of the members of Pulp.

Nice job. I'm more into the 80's and seen quite a lot of 80's acts that
have gone out on tour recently including Pet Shop Boys, Erasure,
Poison, Human League, Howard Jones, ABC, The (English Beat), Adam Ant.
I was never much of a concert person growing up and living in a village
in the middle of nowhere, getting to shows would have been difficult
anyway. I was much older when I started to appreciate live music and
have been fortunate to be able to see some great bands.

I saw ABC play back in 2021 where Martin Fry and his band played a small theater in California due to slightly lax quarantine rules and wanted to
play some shows back then. It was worth the money.

I saw ABC (Well, Martin and his band, as you say) at the Music Hall
at Fair Park in Dallas, about 3,400 capacity where he opened for Howard
Jones. It was definitely a great concert. Howard Jones wasn't as good
as I remember him being the first time, but that's probably because I
scored free GA tickets for House of Blues and managed to get right at
the front against the rail and there was a great vibe. Men Without Hats
were the 2nd opening band and they put on a great show of their own.

80's new wave inspired band All Hail the Silence opened and they were
pretty good also. I recommend checking them out if you're into that
genre.

That is one hell of a lineup!

Oh not all of them were Lost 80's and they rotated groups and some of
them were at the Total Tubular Festival but still, yes, you'd get to
see a bunch of bands and the tickets were never expensive. I would get something like 3-4th row seats just to the side for about $65.

If you're into the 80's stuff I would highly recommend either Lost 80's
Live or Total Tubular depending if they come through a city near you.

Hmm, did I also mention General Public, Belouis Some, OMD, Nu Shooz,
Steve Hackett (former guitarist with Genesis), Dire Straits, Mark
Knopfler, When in Rome, Colin Hay (of Men at Work), Kon Kan,
Blancmange, Alison Moyet, Cheap Trick, Pop Evil (Not my thing but they
opened for Poison), Phil Collins, Peter Godwin, Gary Myrick...I think
I might be getting to the end of the list!

I did see some 90's bands when I won tickets on a local radio station,
that included No Mercy, Crush, Merril Bainbridge, Donna Lewis and a
couple of others that I'm happy to forget.

Surprisingly the next concert coming up is Foster the People.

I've seen lots of YouTube footage of Howard Jones live with sort of
a stripped-down sound. He played keys, Nick Beggs from Kajagoogoo on
Bass and Nik Kershaw on guitar (I believe). Interesting combination.

Yeah, it's amazing how many people get Howard Jones and Nik Kershaw
mixed up. Must be the hair or something.

I've been a big fan of Nick Beggs - from Kajagoogoo, to fronting the
band after Limahl left, then celtic prog with Iona, improvisational
jazz with Trifecta, interesting solo work, The Mute Gods, and playing
bass with Steven Wilson, it's quite a career.

I liked Kajagoogoo. They did play Too Shy, I think it was, at Fair
Park. A nice treat so maybe I can add Kajagoogoo to my list of bands :)
Still, one song isn't quite the same.

And, he played live with one of my favorite prog rock bands - Pete
Trewavas from Marillion was sidelined with shoulder surgery and Nick
Beggs filled in on stage with them for a couple of weeks recently.

Marillion have never really been on my radar though I've probably only

talk of Fish taking over vocals for Genesis from Phil Collins. Would
have been interesting.

I'd never heard that -- FishGenesis would be akin to Peter Gabriel's
on-stage theatrics and rock opera sensibility with a voice more like
Phil Collins.
