    Louisiana and west of High Island, Texas.

    expected somewhere within the warning area.

    DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
    ----------------------
    At 700 PM CDT (0000 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Edouard was
    located near latitude 30.2 North, longitude 94.2 West. Edouard is
    moving toward the northwest near 7 mph (11 km/h), and this motion is
    expected to continue for the next day or so. On the forecast track,
    the center of Edouard will continue moving inland over southeastern
    and eastern Texas through Wednesday.

    Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 45 mph (75 km/h) with
    higher gusts. Continued weakening is expected during the next day or
    so, and Edouard is forecast to weaken to a tropical depression
    tonight and dissipate by Wednesday night.

    Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 25 miles (35 km)
    from the center. Just before the center passed over, the
    Beaumont/Port Arthur Southeast Texas Regional Airport reported a
    wind gust of 69 mph (111 km/h).

    The estimated minimum central pressure based on surface observations
    is 1000 mb (29.53 inches). The Beaumont/Port Arthur Southeast Texas
    Regional Airport reported a minimum pressure of 998.2 mb (29.48
    inches) as the center passed over the station a couple of hours ago.


    HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
    ----------------------
    Key messages for Tropical Storm Edouard can be found in the

    WIND: Tropical storm conditions are ongoing across portions of
    the warning area along the northwestern Gulf Coast.

    RAINFALL: Edouard is expected to produce rainfall totals of 3 to 7
    inches with maximum totals up to 12 inches for parts of the Upper
    Texas Coast inland through east-central Texas, with potential for 2
    to 4 inches in far southwest Louisiana. This rainfall is likely to
    produce flash flooding, especially in low-lying and urban areas.
    Significant flash flooding is possible. River flooding may also be
    possible.
